Beavers (ages 5-7)
Join our Beaver Colony:
Beavers are the youngest Section in Scouting, and are a great place to learn new things and have great adventures. Fun, friendship, sharing and helping are a big part of the Beaver program, helping youth discover interaction and social skills in a group environment.
Beavers at 1st Wawa explore the world around them; we camp, take nature walks, short hikes, games, crafts, family events and more.
Beavers is all about Learning, Growing, and Friendships
What is a Beaver?
A Beaver Scout Section is called a “Colony”, the concept of Beaver Scouts comes from the short story ‘Friends of the Forest’ by Harry McCarthy, where a colony of beavers befriend a family who build a cottage near the beavers’ riverbank home. Scouts Canada first introduced Beaver Scouts in 1974 and we’ve been ‘sharing’ ever since!
What do Beavers do?
Our energetic Beaver Scouter team bring all aspects of the Scouts Canada Beaver Scouts program to life, with camping, crafts, songs, stories, games and learning all part of the mix.
